Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Lead supervisor to lead a team that installs racking, solar modules, optimizers and wiring that delivers DC power to an inverter or AC power to a combiner panel or point of interconnection. The Mechanical Lead adheres to all safety rules and regulations of electrical workers and Jefferson Electric, ensuring that all solar arrays are installed in a safe manner. This position is under the direction of a Project Manager.
The qualified candidate will manage transportation, delivery, storage, and staging of solar materials and equipment to/at the job location. They will coordinate all aspects of the installation of solar modules, and direct the connection of solar modules. They will inspect and assist with trenching and boring when necessary and will maintain responsibility for clean up of solar sites at the completion of the project.
Skills and Aptitudes

Skills and Aptitudes
- Able to work in various weather conditions.
- Can lead groups of apprentices.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- A positive attitude.
- 3 years experience installing solar arrays.
- Ability to manage and clearly instruct mechanical apprentices.
- Ability to use basic tools and operate light machinery (skid steers and trenchers).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to be on feet for 8-14 hours a day.
- Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and roofs.
- Available for overtime on weekends when required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $17-$22/ hr. starting wage..
- The Apprentice shall only be eligible for benefits after the 90 day probationary period is completed with review and supervisor approval.
